Recycling at school is good for the environment, enriches the curriculum, helps schools to become more sustainable and can result in money savings.

The good news is that free support is available for your school through the Recycle Western Riverside Campaign.

Our Recycle at School programme provides you with:

  • fun, hands-on, curriculum-linked class activities from our trained education officers;
  • practical advice and support to set up recycling initiatives and buy recycled products; and
  • help to make measurable reductions in the amount of rubbish your school produces.
Support can also be ongoing and include: training days; visits to Materials Recovery Facilities; action plans; and waste audits.

School recycling facilities depend on what area your school is in, but
often free recycling bins and collections are provided. Contact your local authority to see what schemes are available:
